Casetta Girasole is a welcoming open-space accommodation, perfect for solo travelers, couples, families with a child, or close friends comfortable sharing a single space. Nestled on one of the highest hills in the countryside of Locorotondo, in the heart of the stunning Valle d’Itria, it is conveniently located near Cisternino and Fasano.

Renovated with great attention to detail in 2024, Casetta Girasole blends traditional charm with modern comforts and now hosts guests from all over the world in a warm, carefully curated environment.

The Interior

As you enter, you are greeted by a bright open-plan living area. This space includes a large sideboard, a silent refrigerator, a convenient storage room with all the necessary cleaning supplies, and a fully equipped kitchen with sink, stovetop, hood, oven, and cabinets containing everything you need to cook and enjoy meals—cutlery, plates, glasses, pots, pans, tablecloths, and more. A coffee machine and a washing machine are also available for your use.

In the living area, you’ll also find a dining table with four chairs, a sofa, and a bookshelf with books in various languages that guests are welcome to borrow during their stay.

Beyond the bookshelf lies the sleeping area, which features a double bed with two nightstands, a spacious wardrobe, and a second sofa—perfect for relaxing or accommodating a child.

To the left of the entrance is the bathroom, equipped with a shower, toilet, bidet, sink, and a cabinet stocked with towels, bathrobes, a hairdryer, a first aid kit, toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, personal care products, and a laundry basket.

The house has both air conditioning (hot and cold) and a heating system to ensure comfort in every season.

The Exterior

Outside, Casetta Girasole is surrounded by a 1,000 m² plot of land with olive and fruit trees, enclosed by the region’s characteristic dry stone walls—an ancient building technique recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Near the entrance, you’ll find two chairs and a small table with a sun umbrella offering shade in the morning. In the afternoon, the area in front of the house is naturally shaded, ideal for resting in the hammock, perhaps with a good book.

The outdoor area also includes a barbecue available to guests and a large dining table with chairs, perfect for enjoying al fresco meals under the starry Apulian sky.

  • Small pets are allowed with a refundable deposit of €50.
  • Smoking is not permitted inside the property.
  • Parties are not allowed inside the property.

The year of construction, 1900, is engraved on the keystone of Trulli Papavero. For over a century, these fairy-tale trulli have provided a refuge in one of the highest districts of Locorotondo, at the border of Cisternino and Fasano, in the beautiful Valle d’Itria. Recently renovated and meticulously restored, Trulli Papavero now welcomes guests from around the world, offering them the unique experience of staying in a trullo, a traditional building from the 17th century typical of the Valle d’Itria.

The Interior
Upon entry, you are greeted by a spacious living room with a table and 6 chairs, a sofa, and a niche with shelves. The living room is distinguished by a high vaulted ceiling with exposed stone.
Through a door to the left, beneath a large arch, you enter a spacious bathroom featuring a shower, towel heater, toilet, bidet, sink, and a cabinet containing towels, bathrobes, extra sheets, as well as a hairdryer, first aid kit, toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, and various cleaning products. The bathroom also includes a washing machine, with a laundry basket, clothespins, and a drying rack.

From the two doors opposite the entrance, you access the two bedrooms, each with vaulted ceilings and exposed stone. The bedroom on the left contains a double bed, two nightstands, and a clothes rack. The bedroom on the right features two single beds, which can be joined to form a double, a nightstand, and a clothes rack.
From the archway to the right, you enter the relaxation area and kitchen. The relaxation area of Trulli Papavero is equipped with a fireplace and an armchair.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a sink, stove, oven, pantry, and refrigerator. Pots, pans, plates, glasses, cutlery, tablecloths, and more are stored in various cabinets.
The house is equipped with independent heating.
